Major New Project for Downtown Provo
Wednesday, June 06, 2007 - 04:18 PM
Provo Mayor Lewis K. Billings joined Brad Sears, REMS Development LCC, Soren Simonsen, AIA, Cooper Roberts Simonsen Associates, Provo Redevelopment Agency Chair George Stewart and Redevelopment Director Paul Glauser to announce a major new project in Provo’s Historic Downtown. Mayor Billings characterizes the project as one of the most exciting and comprehensive developments ever to be announced in the city’s historic district.
As planned, the University Tower project consists of a ten-story mid-rise building filling the space between the Wells Fargo Center and the historic Knight Block on University Avenue. The project is mixed-use and would include retail on the ground floor with office and possibly residential space on the upper floors.

Tuesday, January 09, 2007 - 10:00 AM
The Provo City Redevelopment Agency has been conducting a series of studies, assembling the baseline information needed for a Downtown Business District strategic plan. The last study, which has just been completed by the nationally-recognized consulting firm of Economic Research Associates (ERA), is an analysis of the market for Downtown office, dining, retail, and residential space. What they have discovered is very encouraging for the future of the Downtown.
