This is a good time to thank the many volunteers in our county and city. Volunteers saved about $1,175,660 to area taxpayers last year through their service at dozens of sites. That is a considerable contribution. Think how many people, especially children, they helped without spending a dime! Announcing a new opportunity for community service: The City of Provo is establishing an Information Desk at the City Center located at 351 West Center Street starting August 2002. Volunteers are being asked to serve three hour shifts Monday through Thursday. They will get a chance to greet their neighbors when they come on city business and direct them to the various departments.
