Provo City has 55 parks within city limits, 33 of those accepts reservations for events. Each parks amenities vary, but each provides a unique way to enjoy yourself outdoors. Whether your looking for a playground for the kids, a pond to feed ducks, a place to kick back and read a book, or fun game of disc golf Provo City's parks will not leave you disappointed.
The mission of the Covey Center for the Arts is to enrich the lives of our community, provide for educational and creative development opportunities for all ages, provide first class entertainment appropriate for youth and families, and give us an opportunity to endow all that is good in the arts for generations to come.
There are a wide variety of events held in Provo throughout the year. Provo is a very active community that holds tons of events. There are three different kinds of events in Provo City:
Special Events These are events that are not sponsored by Provo City. Instead these are large scale activities put on by a third party. These event require an application process with the city for a Special Events License.
City Events Events sponsored by Provo City. These are events that are made to strengthen our community. There are unique events every year in addition to our long running annual events.
Performances Provo City is lucky enough to have it's own theater for performing arts. They host a variety of events from local performances to large scale performances of well known bands.
East Bay Golf CourseEstablished in 1986, this Utah golf course was recently voted one of the Top 100 Public Courses by Golf Digest. The East Bay Golf Course features an 18 hole championship course, 7 hole executive course, premiere driving range, full service pro-shop, golf instruction for all ages and skill levels and the Greenhollow Grill.
Hiking in Provo
Provo City has a large diversity of trails ranging from paved walking trails aside the Provo River to the more adventurous hikes like Rock Canyon or The Bonneville Trail Line. No matter what your experience level, or how young your kids are, there is an appropriate hike for you in Provo City. Come and enjoy the beautiful wilderness we have to offer. Access is different on each trail, some allow pets, and others allow horseback riding.
Peaks Ice ArenaPeaks Arena is a large indoor ice skating complex. Used in the 2002 Olympic games, this arena is decked out with full amenities for ice skating and hockey alike. Join in on the open skate times, or join one of the many programs to learn more about skating or hockey. Classes are available for all ages. So come out and spend a day in this Olympic venue for a good time and a glass of hot chocolate.
The new Provo Recreation Center provides a state-of-the-art recreation experience for Provo residents with dozens of amenities for children, adults, seniors, and families. Spend a day at the indoor aquatic center, with slides, rock cliffs, water fall rock walls, lazy rivers, and more. Or come kick, lift, and dance your way to a workout at our fitness mezzanine while your kids play on the 4 basketball courts below. There is something for everyone to enjoy while at the Provo Recreation Center.
The Provo Shooting Sports Park is a firearms education and training facility where local residents, community groups and law enforcement officers can train and enjoy the shooting sports in a safe and controlled environment.
