In addition to serving the community, the Covey Center has the pleasure of hosting some of the best known international, national, regional, and local performers. This year the Covey Center will host comedian Jason Hewlett, ODT performing Thriller, the Vienna Boy's Choir, Cirque Ziva: Golden Dragon Acrobats, and the Cashore Marrionettes.
The Covey Center houses 3 Art Galleries: the Eccles and Secure Galleries on the main level and one gallery on the upper level. These galleries have hosted work by artists from throughout the state of Utah. Exhibits display work from a broad range of mediums including clay and bronze sculptures, pastel and charcoal, watercolor and oil paint, acrylic paint, and encaustic wax. Galleries are open Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm, and are free to the public.
In the spirit of helping enrich younger generations of the community the Covey Center offers dance classes. Classes range from toddler dance for our youngest patrons, all the way to adult ballet and Middle Eastern dance. Participants can learn to enjoy the artistry of movement and music.
The Covey Center houses a 90 seat black box theatre on the upper level of the building. Each year four to six theatrical shows are produced in the this theatre. This season will include The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Joyful Noise, The Andrews Brothers, and The Foreigner.
