Provo Youth City Council

The Provo Municipal Council created the Provo Youth City Council to encourage youth to take an active role in their community. Members of PYCC are students from any of Provo's high schools; they plan and coordinate community service projects, participate in youth conferences, conduct legislative research, and "shadow" city and community leaders. This affords the youth an opportunity to gain greater understanding of local government and develop essential leadership skills required for success in their academic and professional careers. The prime objectives of the Provo City Youth Council are:

     1.  To provide meaningful community service opportunities.

     2.  To involve youth in government affairs on the local, state, and federal levels.

     3.  To provide leadership training and prepare youth for academic and professional careers.
