    FIREWORKS RESTRICTIONS
    By order of the Provo City Fire Marshal

    Due to extremely dry and hazardous fire conditions, the following local fireworks restrictions* are in effect July 1, 2007 through July 27, 2007:

    It shall be unlawful to discharge any fireworks or other pyrotechnic devices in the following areas:

    • All areas within Provo City limits and east of South State Street, north to Slate Canyon Drive, north to 300 South, west to 900 East, north to Timpview Drive (650 East), north to Foothill Drive (4525 North), west to Canyon Road, then north to University Avenue (see map).
    • All areas of Provo City within 20 feet of combustible weeds, grasses, trees, shrubs, fences, or structures.
    • Provo City Parks unless otherwise designated.

    The following Provo City Parks have been designated for the discharge of legal fireworks:

    • Sertoma Park- 400 East 2400 North
    • Exchange Park- 900 North 700 West
    • Fort Utah Park- 200 N. Geneva Road
    • Footprinter"s Park- 1150 South 1350 West
    This closure will be aggressively enforced. Violators are subject to maximum fines allowable under the law.

    As a reminder, it is unlawful to sell, offer for sale or discharge fireworks of any kind in the State of Utah, outside of those days prescribed by law. Class 1.4G explosives, formerly known as Class C state approved fireworks may be sold after June 19 and before July 26; after December 19 and before January 3; and 15 days before and on the Chinese New Year. State approved fireworks may be discharged three days before, on the day of, and three days following: July 4; July 24; January 1; and the Chinese New Year (Utah Code 53-7-225).
