Timeline for Visioning 2030


March - April 2010
  • Organize steering committee
 
April - August 2010
  • Inform steering committee members on key issues
  • Create a vision statement
  • Create a statement of core values
  • Identify focus areas for subcommittees
  • Create subcommittees and invite chairs and members to serve
 
August - December 2010
  • Solicit subcommittee members and other volunteers
  • Subcommittees form and undertake their assigned tasks
  • Subcommittees submit final draft chapters of the vision document to the steering committee
 
December 2010 - April 2011
  • Solicit public comment on the vision document through open houses, online commentary and in public meetings
  • Subcommittees will review public input and adopt appropriate changes to their chapters of the vision document
  • Steering committee will adopt the final vision document

May - June 2011

  • Present recommended final document to the Mayor and Municipal Council

June - July 2011

  • Planning Commission reviews and makes recommendations on the final vision document
  • Municipal Council adopts the vision document by resolution
  • Other entities in the community are asked to formally adopt the vision document as well
  • Signatures of the various adopting entities are affixed to the final official vision document

July 2011 - 2013

  • Establish a process and timeline for Public review and approval of action items related to the Goals and Objectives of the approved Visioning document.
  • The Mayor's administration determines process for preparing and executing an implementation strategy for the Vision Document
  • New process is established to develop specific actions that achieve the desired outcomes of the Vision Document
