Boards & Commissions

The Community Development Department directs six of the City’s boards, commissions and committees. These boards are made up of Provo City citizens who are appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the Municipal Council. These boards make recommendations to the Mayor, City Council and staff regarding various land use issues within the city.

The Provo City Design Review Committee will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., in the Community Development Conference Room at the Provo City Center, located at 330 West 100 South. The following items below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. The Provo City Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room at the Provo City Center, located at 330 West 100 South. The items listed below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. Preceding the public hearing, a briefing will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room. The briefing is open to the public; however, formal presentation of items, public comment and actions will be reserved for the public hearing at 12:30 p.m.

ITEM 1      Planning for 2017 Historic House Tour and interpretive initiatives including exhibitions, publications and other events.

Items noted on the agenda with a star (*) require legislative action by the Municipal Council following a public hearing. Unmarked items are administrative actions requiring the approval of only the Landmarks Commission. Decisions on items involving either landmark designation or the refusal to issue a Certificate of Historic Appropriateness may be appealed to the Municipal Council within thirty (30) days of the decision of the Commission per Section 16.03 of the Provo City Code.

Copies of the agenda materials, public hearing procedure, and staff recommendations are available the week of the hearing at reasonable cost in the Community Development office, located at 330 West 100 South, Provo, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
