The Landmarks Commission consists of seven Provo residents, appointed by the Mayor, who survey and inventory historic resources of Provo as well as conduct reviews and make recommendations concerning historic preservation issues, among other duties (see Provo City Code Title 16). The Landmarks Commission meets once a month on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Meetings may be canceled due to lack of items needing to be heard. The meetings begin at 12:00PM in the Community Development Conference Room.

Agendas are posted approximately two week before the meeting. Staff Reports are posted approximately one week before the meeting, if they are needed; most items do not require a Staff Report. NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE LANDMARKS COMMISSION
The Provo City Landmarks Commission will hold a public meeting Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room at the Provo City Center, located at 330 West 100 South. The items listed below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. Preceding the public meeting, a briefing will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room. The briefing is open to the public; however, formal presentation of items, public comment and actions will be reserved for the public meeting at 12:30 p.m.
Items noted on the agenda with a star (*) require legislative action by the Municipal Council following a public hearing. Unmarked items are administrative actions requiring the approval of only the Landmarks Commission. Decisions on items involving either landmark designation or the refusal to issue a Certificate of Historic Appropriateness may be appealed to the Municipal Council within thirty (30) days of the decision of the Commission per Section 16.03 of the Provo City Code.
Copies of the agenda materials, public hearing procedure, and staff recommendations are available the week of the hearing at reasonable cost in the Community Development office, located at 330 West 100 South, Provo, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Agendas and staff recommendations are also generally available on the Provo City Community Development web site the week of the meeting at http://provo.org/commdev.boards.html (click on Landmarks Commission).
