Winter Fest and First Night

Winterfest Christmas LightsProvo City's Winter Fest starts with the Lights On Ceremony on November 30 and ends with First Night on December 31. 


Provo City will celebrate New Year's Eve with an international-themed First Night on Dec. 31 from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Provo Towne Centre, 1200 Towne Centre Blvd.  Entertainment and activities will relate to this year's "Party Around the World" theme, including multi-cultural music and dancing, an international foods eating contest, and more. 
 
Also for the first time this year there will be an inflatable obstacle course, jousting game, and bungee run.  Other activities include balloon twisters, karaoke, live bands, dancing, and the First Night Star singing competition.  There will be fireworks outside at 9 p.m. and midnight.
 
The public can buy buttons which serve as tickets to the event at Provo City's Parks and Recreation Department, 351 W. Center, and Winger's at the Provo Towne Centre.  They are $4 for adults 13 and over, and $3 for children 12 and under.  Children 3 and under are free.  Buttons are $1 more on the day of the event.  All of the entertainment and activities are free with the purchase of a button.  Food will be for sale in the mall food court.  Purchase of a button also includes a free skate rental at Provo Peaks Ice Arena between Jan. 1-9, 2010.
