Countdown in Provo

Celebrate New Year's Eve at "Countdown in Provo" on Sat., Dec. 31, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at the Provo Towne Centre mall.
Provo invites the public to celebrate New Year's Eve at the indoor, family friendly "Countdown in Provo" on Sat. from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at the Provo Towne Centre mall, 1200 Towne Centre Blvd. There will be fireworks outside at 9 p.m. and midnight. Provo Mayor John Curtis will lead the countdown to the ball drop at midnight.
Activities include laser tag, photo booths, a rock wall, inflatable obstacle course and games, balloon twisters, face painting, hair stylists, karaoke, a food eating contest, live bands, Top 40's dancing, and the "Countdown Star" singing competition. There will be a variety of performers, including a comedy show, magic show, puppet show, and live animal show.
The public can buy admission bands at Provo's Parks and Recreation office, 351 W. Center St., and at Winger's in the Provo Towne Centre. The bands are $4 for adults 13 and over and $3 for children 12 and under. Children three and under are free. Admission is $1 more on the day of the event. All of the entertainment and activities are free with the purchase of admission. Food will be for sale in the mall food court. Purchase of admission also includes a free skate rental at Provo Peaks Ice Arena between Jan. 2-7.
