Nanning-Provo City Sister City Agreement

In May 1999, Deputy Mayor Huang Jiaren lead a delegation of 5 to visit Provo and sign the Sister City Agreement.  An invitation was extended to Provo City to attend the 1st International Fok Songs Festival to be held in October of 1999. 

On September 27, 2000, Mayor Lewis Billings joined Mayor Lin Guoqiang in signing the official Sister City Agreement in Beijing at the Beijing Internation Convention Center.  Joining Mayor Billings this visit were, Mark Hathaway, Jerry Grover, Gregory Cook, Ken Crossley, Clark Woodger, Bruce Hawkins.  Warren Osborne & family, and Leland Gamette.
