Essential Duties: These are guest services staff positions needed on a part-time basis by the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department for the Peaks Ice Arena. The individuals hired for these positions will be required to perform general duties in the following areas: admissions, concessions, and skate rental for the Peaks Ice Arena. Individuals will also be required to perform other work as required.
 
Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have the following: any training or experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the work; physical strength and agility enough to perform the work, and ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner.
 
Selection Factors: Knowledge of applicable job-related experience. Skill in performing duties in a manner that demonstrates respect, integrity, courtesy, and kindness towards fellow workers, customers, and the general public. Ability to learn quickly and be courteous in adverse situations; and be flexible and fill in where needed.
 
License: Valid, lawful driver's license may be required at time of appointment. Applicant will be disqualified from driving for the City on the basis of an unacceptable driving record as reflected by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
 
Hours: Schedule varies based on department need.
 
Wage: $7.25 to $15.07 per hour depending upon skill level and experience. Payment will be made by direct deposit.
 
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related knowledge, experience, education, and/or training. Selection for this position may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
 
Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires walking; siting; bending; reaching; lifting up to 30 pounds; and periods of time at a computer terminal.
 
Pre-employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicants will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
