Part-time Regular Positions

Essential Duties: These are ice skating instruction positions for the Peaks Ice Arena for the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department. The appointed employees will be required to instruct participants ages three to adult in ice skating from the beginning to intermediate level and assist the Figure Skating Coordinator as needed. Additionally, employee will be required to assist Recreation staff members and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements: Sufficient amount of related skill and/or experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the job. Preference given to candidates who have previously instructed or have ice skating experience.
Selection Factors: Ability to work well with all types of people.
Hours: Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Wage: $10.00 per hour depending upon level of skill and experience. Payment will be made by direct deposit.
Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work, including, standing and/or ice skating during instruction and minor bending; the ability to work outside in the cold and other weather conditions; and work with the public in possibly stressful situations.
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, and knowledge. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
