    CASHIERS/HOUSE MANAGERS

    Part-time Seasonal Positions

    Positions Available: 2 (Two)


    Essential Duties: These are cashier positions needed on a part-time, on-call basis by the Covey Center for the Arts. The individuals hired for these positions will be cross trained as evening cashiers and house managers and will be required to perform general duties as follows: handle and count money and balance daily settlements; use proper telephone etiquette; move boxes and chairs as needed; perform minor lifting; resolve patron concerns; ensure safety of patrons entering the building; make house announcements; train and oversee volunteer ushering staff; and perform other duties as required.


    Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have the following: any training or experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the work; physical strength and agility enough to perform the work, and ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner. Previous customer service experience is preferred.


    Selection Factors: Knowledge of applicable job-related experience; and computer programs. Skill in performing duties in a manner that demonstrates respect, integrity, courtesy, and kindness towards fellow workers, theater patrons, and the general public. Ability to learn quickly and be courteous in adverse situations; and be flexible and fill in where needed.


    License: Valid, lawful driver's license may be required at time of appointment. Applicant will be disqualified from driving for the City on the basis of an unacceptable driving record as reflected by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.


    Hours: Schedule varies based on evening performances.


    Duration of Position: To be discussed during interview.


    Wage: $8.00 per hour depending upon skill level and experience. Payment will be made by direct deposit.


    Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related knowledge, experience, education, and/or training. Selection for this position may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.


    Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires walking; siting; bending; reaching; lifting up to 50 pounds; and long periods of time at a computer terminal.


    Pre-employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicants will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
