Number of Positions: Two (2) to Five (5)
Essential Duties:These are seasonal officiating positions in the Recreation Division of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department. The individuals appointed to these positions will be responsible for umpiring girls softball games. The leagues are modified fast pitch (3rd - 9th grade). Additionally, employees may be required to do some field maintenance and perform other related work as required.
Minimum Requirements: Sufficient amount of experience and/or knowledge of rules associated with slow pitch/fast pitch softball games which would demonstrate an ability to perform the work.
Selection Factors: Ability to work well with adults, coaches, and spectators.
Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., plus an occasional Saturday.
Wage: $10.00 per hour. Payment will be made by direct deposit.
Duration of Position: May to July 9, 2008.
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job related experience. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
