YOUTH VOLLEYBALL INSTRUCTORS

Positions Available: Two (2) to Six (6)

Essential Duties: These are youth volleyball instructor positions for the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department. Appointed employees will be required to instruct youth in the sport of volleyball including the skills and techniques of volleyball offense and defense, and the rules and etiquette of the sport, and officiate volleyball games. Additionally, employees will be required to assist the Volleyball Coordinator as needed and perform other related duties as required.
 
Minimum Requirements: Adequate knowledge, skill, or experience in the sport of volleyball which would demonstrate an ability to perform the work. Preference will be given to applicants with previous volleyball instructing/coaching and playing experience.
 
Wage: $9.00 per hour. Payment will be made by direct deposit.
 
Duration of Position: Approximately February 28, 2012 to May 12, 2012. 
 
Hours/Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
 
Selection Factors: Knowledge of volleyball hand signals, rules and skills. Ability to set up volleyball equipment and work well with youth and adults.
 
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, and knowledge. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
 
Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work including lifting up to 40 lbs., standing, and moving around on feet for extended periods of time.
