Can I get legal advice from the Provo City Attorney's Office?
Provo City Attorneys provide legal advice only to the City’s elected and appointed officials not to individual citizens. Private legal matters must be handled by attorneys retained by the person seeking legal advice.
 
Where can I find the Provo City ordinances?

Provo City’s ordinances are officially bound and published as the “Provo City Code”. An electronic version of the Code may be viewed and downloaded (.pdf format) from the Provo City Council website.

   

How do I make a “damage claim” against Provo City?
Any person who has been damaged by the City may make a claim for damages against the City. The official claim form, “Provo City Claim Form,” may be downloaded (.pdf format), may be requested via mail by calling 801-852-6363, or may be picked up in person at:

A lawyer referral service is provided by the Utah State Bar Association and may be contacted at 800-698-9077. Another option is the “Tuesday Night Bar”. Provo City does not resolve private disputes between landlords and tenants. You may contact Utah Legal Services, Inc. at 801-374-6766 or BYU Law help at 801-378-3025. If you have information regarding an illegal practice or a dangerous building you may contact Provo’s Code Enforcement Officials at 801-852-6400.
