Provo City

Housing Authority

The Provo City Housing Authority works to serve the community of Provo by finding traditional and innovative ways to house low-income elderly, disabled individuals, and families who might otherwise have difficulty finding adequate housing.

The Provo City Housing Authority's two basic programs, Public Housing and Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, are funded federally through the office of Housing and Urban Development.

Participants who receive assistance from these programs pay approximately 30% of their gross adjusted income towards rent.

Other low and moderate-income housing programs are owned, managed and operated by the Provo City Housing Authority. Each program has its own distinct characteristics and requirements.

Board members are appointed by the Mayor with the advise and consent of the Municipal Council.  The board meets monthly and board members should have an interest in and familiarity with housing programs and with the housing needs in Provo.  Board members serve five year terms.
