Utility Rate Increases


Provo City has gone a long time without raising utility rates, but can no longer do so without jeopardizing the financial stability of those important city resources.  It will likely raise its energy, water and sewer rates to meet the needs of the utilities and maintain appropriate cash reserves for emergencies.

There was a public hearing before the Municipal Council on May 18.  In addition, there were also three public meetings on the topic throughout the month of April: 
 
Tuesday, April 13, 8 p.m., Lakeview Elementary, 2899 W. 1390 North
Tuesday, April 27, 7 p.m., City Center (Municipal Council Chambers), 351 W. Center
Thursday, April 29, 7 p.m., Edgemont Elementary, 566 E. 3650 North.
