MAY SENIOR MONTH ACTIVITIES
May is National Senior Citizen Month, and will be celebrated throughout the month at the Eldred Senior Center.  The celebration will begin with our annual Open House on Thursday, May 1st, from 12 noon to 2 p.m.  Enjoy a delightful lunch, entertainment, and displays from all classes and activities held at the Eldred Center year round.

All adults throughout the county are invited to attend our special Spring Dance and Concert with the Big Band music provided by Dean Clark and his 17 piece orchestra Friday, May 9th, beginning at 8:00 p.m.  Bring your friends and neighbors, for a most delightful evening.  This is a great way to celebrate Mother's Day with your sweetheart.  Whether you dance or listen to the great music, you will enjoy yourself.  Refreshments will be served.

Our Honor 90+ Day, when we honor our members who are 90 years and over, will be Thursday, May 29th.  Entertainment will be provided for this special day.  Family and friends are welcome to join us.  Luncheon reservations are required the day before by noon.  The luncheon is a suggested donation of $2.00 for those 60 years and over, and a mandatory $4.90 for guests under sixty.

SUMMER PICNICS
The Eldred Center will host the annual Pancake Breakfast/Brunch Wednesday, June 18th, in the west pavilion of North Park, beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Enjoy pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns cooked frest by the Eldred Center staff and Provo City officials.  Join us for our first summer outing.  Reservations are required before noon June 16th, and can be made by calling the office at 852-6620.

July will bring our delightful North Park Picnic, held on Wednesday, July 16th, beginning at 12 noon.  Enjoy great entertainment and a beautiful summer day in Provo.  Bring your neighbors and friends for bingo beginning at 10:30 a.m.  This is a great time to renew old friendships and get to know the great staff of the Eldred Center.  Reservations are required before noon July 14th.

The Rock Canyon Park Picnic will be held August 13th, beginning at 12 noon.  Enjoy a great view of Provo City while enjoying a delicious lunch and the wildlife from Rock Canyon.  Come early for Bingo at 10:30 a.m.  Bring your friends and neighbors with you for a pleasant picnic at the foot of the beautiful mountains.  Reservations are required before noon August 11th.

The annual "Watermelon Bust" will be our final summer picnic, held in our own backyard with plenty of shade, great food, and delicious watermelon for dessert.  Join us September 17th, for a fun day before the fall season comes.  Bring your appetites and friends for a fun luncheon.  Reservations are required by September 16th.

AARP DRIVER SAFETY COURSE
Classroom driving safety courses are available to senior citizens and younger drivers, at a minimal cost through the AARP.  Local instructors conduct a two-day course every other month from 1-5 p.m., at the Eldred Senior Center.  Senior citizen participants in this course earn 5 to 10 percent discount on their auto insurance.  They have 16 percent fewer traffic injuries, fatalities, and convictions.  Please call the office at 852-6620 to reserve your seat in the class.
