The friendly contest between the two schools takes place every year during the weeks leading up to the rivalry game. The food and funds donated in the Provo area will go to Utah Community Action Services and Food Bank. The results will be announced at the second annual Rivalry Ride on December 5.
Food Drive details:Members of the public can donate cash at the General Services Counter at the Provo City Center, 351 W. Center Street; the Provo City Energy Department, 251 W. 800 North; and other locations on campus and around the city. For every $1 donated, the donor may write a message on a "Y" or "U" card to be prominently displayed at that location.
Cash donations will also be accepted online beginning Friday, November 13, at
http://studentalumni.byu.edu.
There will also be bins for nonperishable food items around campus and at supermarkets throughout Provo.
Rivalry Ride details:Join Provo City Mayor Lewis K. Billings and Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker in the second annual Mayors’ Rivalry Ride on December 5.
Based on the Cougars' thrilling overtime win on November 28, the mayors will bike approximately 50 miles from Salt Lake City to Provo. The bike ride will begin at 10 a.m., with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. in Salt Lake City and a closing ceremony at 3:30 p.m. in Provo.
