    Welcome to the Water Resources Division of Public Works

    The Water Resources is comprised of four Sections: Water Sources, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collections and Water Reclamation. Our mission is to utilize our experience, expertise, and commitment to protect the community’s health and welfare by providing an abundant supply of high quality water and managing wastewater in a way which exceeds Federal and State water quality standards at a competitive price to our customers. Our duties include:

    • Protecting the City’s water rights and developing new sources of supply adequate to stay ahead of growing water system demands.
    • Developing a comprehensive community water conservation plan.
    • Operating, maintaining, rehabilitating, replacing and expanding the City’s water and sewer infrastructure in a timely manner that will provide for reliable uninterrupted service to the community.
    • Continuing to refine and implement odor management plans at the Water Reclamation Plant which will allow us to be the best neighbor possible to business community.
    • Maintaining reserves in both the water and sewer funds at a level sufficient to provide for reasonably foreseeable emergencies.
    • Maintaining a Vulnerability Assessment of the City’s drinking water infrastructure and implementing a security plan that will protect critical water and sewer infrastructure.
    • Maintaining an efficient drought management plan which will provide sufficient water supply to meet reasonable customer demands.
    • Providing a timely and comprehensive review of water and sewer facilities associated with new development.
    • Maintaining healthy relationships and appropriate interaction with Local, State and Federal Agencies and other organizations whose roles are critical and beneficial to our mission.
