Water Distribution Section of Water Resources

The Water Distribution Section of Water Resources is responsible for those facilities which distribute drinking water from the City's ditribution reservoirs or tanks to the homes and businesses within the community.  This includes the maintenance of water distribution mains, valves, fire hydrants, water service line, and meters.  The work of this Section is almost always associated with excavation in streets or immeditately adjacent to streets for the purpose of installing main lines, service lines and meters, or for the repair of the same.  Their work would include the repair of water main and service line breaks which may occur in the street or in yards, the replacement of meter box lids which may be missing or broken, frozen water pipes, fire hydrants leaking or damaged, and any problems associated with waterline construction or maintenance.
