Homelessness Prevention (Rapid Re-Housing)
Provo City Homelessness Prevention Plan
Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)
The purpose of the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) is to provide homelessness prevention assistance to households who would otherwise become homeless--many due to the economic crisis--and to provide assistance to rapidly rehouse presons who are homeless as defined by section 103 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
These resources will be targeted and prioritized to serve households that are most in need of this temporary assistance and who are most likely to achieve stable housing, whether subsidized or unsubsidized, after the program concludes.
Provo City will identify and certify two subgrantees to provide services for the grant. Certification means a written assertion, based on supporting evidence, that must be kept available for inspection by HUD, the Inspector General and the public. The assertion shall be deemed to be accurate unless HUD determines otherwise after inspecting the evidence and providing due notice and opportunity for comment.
