On December 5, 2006, the Reason Foundation, a well-known libertarian think tank which opposes many government programs, issued a report that was critical of the iProvo telecommunications project. The City issued an immediate response to news reports on the Reason report, and the response was printed on the editorial page of the Daily Herald.
On December 28, members of the iProvo team released a white paper entitled Building a Digital Community, which offers a detailed response to the Reason Foundation report and gives a more accurate representation of the history and status of the iProvo project. The report consists of about 30 pages, and includes a two page executive summary. The report is in PDF format, and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the contents.
