Lola Hardman Mitchell

Lola Hardman Mitchell

1925 - 2016

Lola Hardman Mitchell beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and friend to all, 90, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on February 20, 2016. She was born on March 24, 1925 to David and Eda Hardman in Pleasant Grove, UT. Lola was one of twelve children. They were all raised on a farm in Pleasant Grove.

Lola met the love of her life, Leonard Gilbert Mitchell, on November 21, 1941 on a blind date. Leonard and Lola were married on April 24, 1942. They were later sealed on June 7, 1974 for time and all eternity in the Provo Temple. Lola and Leonard were blessed with three children, Connie, Nancy and Jerry.

Lola had many talents and passions including serving in many positions in the church, being a genealogy consultant at the Utah Valley Genealogical Library at BYU, crocheting, quilting, knitting, gardening, member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and volunteering in the hospital. Lola had the ability to make anyone’s day by talking to them. Any random person on the street could become Lola’s newest friend.

Lola had a great testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, and more specifically in prayers.

Lola was preceded in death by her loving husband, mother, father, all but one sibling, Lillian, daughter-in-law, Shirline and two grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Connie (Wayne) Pace, Nancy (Mike) Millet and Jerry Mitchell, 11 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the North Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 1066 West 200 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
