Part Time Seasonal Positions

Positions Available: Ten (10)

Essential Duties: These are laborer positions needed seasonally by the golf course of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department. The individuals hired for these positions will be required to perform general food service operations as follows: open and close golf course grill; prepare and report nightly deposit; prepare food and beverages for customers; clean and sanitize all surfaces and areas in accordance with Health Department policies; provide friendly customer service; follow daily procedures set by golf course management; assist with tournaments, outings, and events; and perform stocking and inventory of pantry. Employees will also be expected to assist other crew members as needed/directed and perform other related work as required.

Minimum Requirements: Any training or experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the work. Applicant must have the following: a current food handler’s permit, physical strength and agility enough to perform the work, basic computer skills, ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner, and a knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and equipment required by the position.

License: Valid, lawful driver's license may be required at time of appointment. Applicant may be disqualified on the basis of an unacceptable driving record as reflected by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Wage: $8.00 - $12.00 per hour depending upon skill level and experience. Payment will be made by direct deposit.

Hours: Schedule will vary throughout the season, including weekends and holidays and will be coordinated with supervisor.

Pre-Employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicant may be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.

Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job related experience. Selection for this position will be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
