Essential Duties: The Provo City Recreation Department is looking for a Bouldering Instructor. The individual appointed to this position will be required to perform the following duties: create teaching curriculum, promote the program, track attendance, ensure safety practices of participants, instruct students of varying levels and ages, and evaluate program success for modification. Must provide energetic and safe classes and display a positive, upbeat attitude for all participants.
Minimum Requirements: Sufficient knowledge and experience with rock climbing and bouldering as well as written and verbal communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience and the ability to adapt to a variety of ability levels.
Wage: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience. Payment will be by direct deposit.
Schedule: Schedule is flexible based on department need and is subject to change.

Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work including: two to four hours of bouldering instruction per week and other varied physical activities associated with performing the essential duties.
