Part-time Seasonal Position

Essential Duties: This position oversees the Sundance Ski Program that meets at the Provo Recreation Center and takes participants to Sundance Ski Resort for lessons. The individual appointed to this position will be required to perform the following duties: supervise other staff members and volunteers and chaperone ski participants during open ski time following group lessons; organize spreadsheets and communicate with parents and participants about important safety and logistical information between lessons; show interest in and communicate with participants and parents; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to ski/snowboard with varying levels of participants. Experience supervising other employees or managing volunteers is preferred.

Selection Factors: Knowledge of skiing and experience working with youth; ability to plan and organize documents and logistics; communicate with the public in a courteous and pleasant manner; and establish effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, volunteers, and the public.

Special Requirements: Must be able to ski or snowboard at least at an intermediate level.

Schedule:
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays in January, 2019, with approximately 4 hours per week in the office.

Wage: $12-15 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Payment will be made by direct deposit.

Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.

Physical/Environmental Factors:
This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work including: Skiing or snowboarding in variable outdoor winter weather conditions. Considerable standing and walking is also required.
