Positions Available: 6 -10
Essential Duties: These are seasonal concession worker positions for Provo Recreation at ballpark concessions stands (Footprinter and Fort Utah complexes). The individuals appointed to these positions will be responsible for food preparation, service of concession stand customers, maintenance and cleaning of concession stand area, handling money, inventory control, and duties necessary for opening and cleaning the concession stand area. Individuals will also perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements: An adequate amount of knowledge and experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the work. Valid food handlers permit required at time of appointment (obtained from the Utah County Health Department). Applicants must be at least 14 years of age to work at Fort Utah (youth baseball) and at least 16 years of age to work at Footprinter (adult softball).
Selection Factors: Ability to handle and count money and work well and communicate with people.
Wage: $7.50 - $8.50 per hour depending upon qualifications. Payment will be made by direct deposit.
Schedule: Flexible hours on weekday evenings between 4:30 PM and 10:00 PM and/or Saturdays between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
Duration of Position: Approximately April to October 2019.
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
Physical/Environmental Factors: The work of this position requires standing, bending, stooping, reaching, light lifting, and other physical demands associated with concession duties. Work location is inside with use of food preparation machines and appliances. Some positions may include exposure to high-stress situations or environments, including, contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances and some exposure to cleaning materials.
