Essential Duties: The individual appointed to this position will be required to perform the following duties: approximately one to six hours per week of dance instruction for various age groups at The Covey Center for the Arts. Individuals must have knowledge of at least one dances indicated below, as well as coordination, movement and rhythm. Must also have job-related experience, public relations skills and experience working with youth.

Minimum Requirements: Thorough knowledge of any of the following: Ballet, Contemporary or Jazz/Hip Hop dance, as well as coordination, movement and rhythm. Prior classroom experience preferred. Requires strenuous exercise for approximately one to six one-hour classes, which are held once a week. Must be able to operate a productive, well managed class, work well with youth, teens, and possess the physical ability required to perform the duties of the job. Must be able to commit to teach the duration of the classes, from August to May.

Wage: $15.00 per hour. Payment will be made by direct deposit.

Schedule: This position is to teach fall dance classes. Times of those classes are to be determined.

Selection Factors: Knowledge of various dance techniques and availability to teach. Ability to work well with youth and teens and uphold The Covey Center policies and procedures. Must also possess public relations skills.

Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.

Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work including: approximately six hours per week of dance instruction and other varied physical activities associated with performing the essential duties.
