Part time Seasonal Positions

Number of Positions: Five to Seven (5-7)
Essential Duties: These are official/referee positions for the Provo Parks & Recreation Department. The individuals appointed to these positions will be required to officiate volleyball matches, keep score, and control games as the site supervisor. Additionally, employees will be required to assist office staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge of volleyball rules, penalties, and hand signals which would demonstrate an ability to perform the job; and physical ability needed to perform the duties of the job. Please list your qualifications in the certifications section of the application.
Wage: $12.00-$15.00* per hour for officiating; $9.00 per hour for site supervising.
*Officials who attend the Utah Volleyball Officiating Academy (www.uvbot.org) in July will be paid $15.00 per hour during the season, and can be reimbursed for the cost of the training if they work the entire season.
Hours: Monday - Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; approximately four (4) to twelve (12) hours per week.
Duration of Position: August 19 to November 14, 2019, depending upon department need.
Selection Factors: Knowledge of volleyball rules; ability to maintain control of teams, coaches, and players; resolve conflict; and have the ability to work well with the public.
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview.
Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires that the individuals stand on their feet for the entire game and deal with the public in stressful circumstances.
