Part-time Regular Position

Essential Duties: The individual hired for this position will be required to perform duties as follows: sell tickets in the ticket office; process internet ticket sales; count money and balance daily cash drawer; assist the public and staff prior to and during performances; work with a volunteer usher staff; provide security for the building; do minor lifting and moving (programs, tables, and chairs as needed); have the flexibility to fill in where needed; and do other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a working knowledge of computers; ability to type 35 wpm; experience working with money; experience working with the public; physical strength and agility to perform the work; and the ability to follow directions and communicate with others.

Selection Factors: Knowledge of applicable job-related experience and computer programs. Skill in performing duties in a manner that demonstrates respect, integrity, courtesy, and kindness towards fellow workers, theater patrons, and the general public. Ability to learn quickly and be courteous in adverse situations; and be flexible and fill in where needed.

License: Valid, lawful driver's license may be required at time of appointment. Applicant will be disqualified from driving for the City on the basis of an unacceptable driving record as reflected by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Hours: Schedule is based on events Monday through Saturday. Typical hours are between 6pm and 11pm Monday – Friday and 9am to 11pm on Saturday.

Wage: $10.00 per hour. Payment will be made by direct deposit.

Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related knowledge, experience, education, and/or training. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.

Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires using a telephone, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and long periods of time at a computer.

Pre-employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicants will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
