Part-Time Seasonal Position
Positions Available: 10
Essential Duties: These are Recreation Worker positions needed seasonally by the golf course of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department. The individuals hired for this position will be required to perform the following duties: open and close golf course grill; prepare and report nightly deposit; prepare food and drinks for customers; clean and sanitize all surfaces and areas in accordance with Health Department policies; provide friendly customer service; follow daily procedures set by golf course management; perform stocking and inventory of pantry, along with general clubhouse maintenance; assist with tournaments, outings and events; assist other crew members as needed/directed; and perform other related work as required.
Minimum Requirements: Any training or experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the work. Applicants must have the following: physical strength and agility to perform the work, a basic knowledge of golf, ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner, and knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and equipment required by the position. Must have a current food handler’s permit.
License: Valid, lawful driver's license may be required at the time of appointment. Applicants may be disqualified on the basis of an unacceptable driving record as reflected by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
Wage: $7.75 - $12.00 per hour depending upon skill level and experience. Payment will be made by direct deposit.
Hours: Schedule will vary throughout the season, including weekends and holidays, and will be coordinated with supervisor.
Pre-Employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicants may be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six months.
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job related experience. Selection for this position will be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
