Musical Theater Intensive



Ben currently works as a Casting Director at the LDS Motion Picture Studio. He graduated with a BFA in Music/Dance/Theater and a minor in Business from BYU where he performed for 2 years with the Young Ambassadors. Some of his favorite roles have included Smudge in Forever Plaid, Cosme in Souvenir, Heber C Kimball in The Nauvoo Pageant, and The Baker in Into the Woods. Ben has music directed at BYU, HCTO, and the Covey Center, including music direction for the World Premiere of Deseret-the Musical.  In addition to his multiple acting and directing credits, Ben enjoys recording audiobooks in his free time.

Skye Cummins

Skye graduated from BYU with a BFA in Music/Dance/Theater and Theater Education. She taught high school for several years, leading her students to place first at the Utah Shakespearean Festival.  She and her husband own and operate Triple Threat Productions, where she enjoys writing and directing musicals for children and teaching private voice lessons.  She assistant directed the BYU High School Theater Workshop for 15 years, and is excited to bring that experience to the Covey. She loves working with youth and seeing them develop their talents as they learn to share their light through theater!


bailee morrisBAILEE MORRIS Bailee has taught private voice lessons in Utah Valley for over 7 years. She graduated from BYU with a BFA in Music Dance Theater. At BYU she performed 3 years with the Young Ambassadors touring Scandinavia, Australia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. She can be heard on several albums including, most recently, "The Lamb of God" with the London Symphony Orchestra.  She performs all over Utah-- some of her favorites being Lucy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown at the Covey Center, Mama Noah in Children of Eden at BYU and getting to share the stage with Audra McDonald in HCTO's production of 110 In the Shade-- but her most memorable and treasured performing opportunities are those she has with her husband, Taylor. They have 2 delightful daughters, Zoe & Tilly, and Bailee loves being a mom more than anything in the world.


is a professional actor, singer and recording artist from the small town of Green River, Utah. Bayles performed with the Broadway touring company of The Phantom of the Opera, understudying and performing the roles of the Phantom and Raoul. He played Enjolras on the Broadway tour of Les Misérables, and was also part of the show’s China premiere engagement that starred Colm Wilkinson. In New York City, Bayles performed with Stephen Schwartz and Norm Lewis in the industry reading of Children of Eden, playing the role of Adam. Bayles is a member of Actors' Equity Association. Dallyn portrays Hyrum Smith in the Church’s feature films Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration and Emma Smith: My Story. He has also starred in several films in the Liken the Scriptures movie series. LDS Church stage credits include portraying Joseph Smith in the Nauvoo Pageant, and Alma Richards in the Church’s 2002 Winter Olympic production, Light of the World. He has recorded a Broadway album, Some Enchanted Evening, and two inspirational albums, Song of Redeeming Love and Prayer. For Prayer, Bayles won Pearl Awards for New Artist and Inspirational Album. His recordings of “Savior, Redeemer of My Soul” and “My Kindness Shall Not Depart From Thee” are featured in the films 17 Miracles and Ephraim’s Rescue, respectively.

graduated with a BA in Theater from Brigham Young University and with an MFA from the National Theater Conservatory in Denver. She taught acting for 14 years at Brigham Young University in the Theatre and Media Arts Department. She does commercial and voice over work in the area. She has directed locally and in California, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. She has written 3 musicals that have been produced in Utah, Wyoming, and California. Her most current role was the Nurse Utah Valley Universities Film production of Romeo and Juliet. She is currently teaching at Utah Valley University.

A graduate of BYU with a BFA in Acting, Matthew has been performing, teaching, and choreographing Stage Combat for 16 years. After taking the two classes BYU has to offer, he started doing workshops and choreographing the fighting for plays, musicals, operas, short films, etc. at various schools and universities. He was the TA for both the Beginning and Advanced Stage Combat courses for 4 years. He also certified as an Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors in 2006 and again in 2009, with re-certification in specific weapons happening periodically still. Matthew has been teaching Stage Combat at a university level for about 6 years.

monica moore smithMONICA MOORE SMITH is a singer, dancer, model, and actress. She is best known for her role as Julie Flinders in the 2016 version of Saturday’s Warrior. She has also had acting parts in the films Tim Timmerman, Hope of America (2017) and Deidra & Laney Rob a Train (2017). Monica was the cover model for the May 2016 edition of Celestial Shine, and she appeared on the cover of the February 2014 edition of the LDS Church’s magazine, New Era. Her dancing skills include hip-hop, jazz, tap, and ballet.  Monica has also appeared in multiple commercials and two Mormon Message videos – “You Never Know How Much Good You Do” and “Bullying – Stop It.” Her Youtube channel has 2,223 subscribers, and her videos have garnered over 250,000 views. She has seen viral success with several of her videos, including her La La Land cover “City of Stars,” and “I Need Thee Every Hour” featuring Colby Ferrin.

christopher robin millerCHRISTOPHER ROBIN MILLER is an actor with over 30 years experience on stage, television, film & voice over. He is a copywriter, producer & director for radio & TV with top advertising agencies & production companies in the United States. Christopher also works as a voice/dialogue director for animated feature films as well as contributing to their screenplays. He produces his own live sketch comedy show & teaches Voice Over, Scene Study and Improvisation at the collegiate and professional levels.


has been performing since kindergarten. During his first solo in a kindergarten chorus concert at the age of five, his voice cracked and his comedic career began. He started acting consistently in junior high school in community theaters. In high school he wrote, produced, and directed his first full-length play and worked as a freelance musical director for various theater companies. While studying at BYU, he worked for BYU Broadcasting writing and producing commercials. He spent three and a half years performing for BYU's Divine Comedy, has worked with some fantastic fellow Divine Comedians and had an opportunity to do voice work for sketches on BYUtv's Studio C. He has also directed the BYU Sketch Comedy Workshop for the past 3 years.

darcieDARCIE ROBERTS MAGINO is an actress, singer, and dancer best known for her work in Broadway Musicals and National Tours.  Versatile and talented, she made her Broadway debut at 19 in the Tony Award winning musical, CRAZY FOR YOU in which she covered Jody Benson in the leading role of Polly.  Co-starring opposite Tommy Tune in the pre-Broadway tour of BUSKER ALLEY she earned critical acclaim originating the role of Libby St. Alban.  Darcie created the role of Millie Dillmount in NYC’s NAMT Festival and then was cast in the First National Tour of THROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE for which she won a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical.  Ms. Roberts has appeared in Broadway leading roles of the original productions of DREAM, AIDA, and CURTAINS. She originated the triple-threat lead role of Lola, starring in the First National (pre-) Broadway Tour of Barry Manilow’s COPACABANA.  Darcie was a member of the Pre-Broadway production of LEAP OF FAITH, produced by LA Center Theatre Group as Rita and was understudy to Brooke Shields.  Prior to her Broadway debut, Darcie starred in the European Tour of 42nd STREET as Peggy Sawyer and was seen in the First National Tour of ANDREW LLOYD WEBER’S ASPECTS OF LOVE.


 is a New York based actor originally from San Jose, CA. He is currently the Assistant Dance Captain and Swing actor performing in the Broadway production of FROZEN. He has also been in CINDERELLA on Broadway and the national tour of BILLY ELLIOT. He appeared in the RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR as the Wall Street Bull and opened a new Broadway musical entitled THE BANDSTAND in 2017. As well as being a singer and actor Jeff is also an accomplished pianist and plays company class regularly for American Ballet Theatre and Mark Morris Dance Group.
