What should I prepare for auditions?

  • Auditions will be held Monday morning following orientation.  Participants should prepare a 1 minute monologue and 32 bars of a musical theater song in the style of Into the Woods. An accompanist will be provided.  A short dance combination will also be taught.  For callbacks that afternoon, participants will perform scenes and selected songs from Into the Woods.

How many students attend the Musical Theater Intensive?

  • Up to 35 students can participate in the Covey MT Intensive to ensure each participant will receive individual feedback and instruction and have featured stage time in the final production.

How old do I have to be to participate?

  • This workshop is intended for students ages 14-18.

Who can attend the final performance?

  • Participants are encouraged to invite family and friends to the final performance of Into the Woods Jr. Saturday June 30 at 6:00 pm.  It will last a little over an hour.  The event is free of charge with general seating.  The house will open at 5:30 pm.

What should I bring?

  • You should wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring dance clothes and shoes if you have them.  You should also bring a water bottle and a lunch (unless you ordered the catered lunches).
