There are a wide variety of events held in Provo throughout the year. Provo is a very active community that holds tons of events. There are three different kinds of events in Provo City:

Special Events
These are events that are not sponsored by Provo City. Instead these are large scale activities put on by a third party. These event require an application process with the city for a Special Events License.

City Events
Events sponsored by Provo City. These are events that are made to strengthen our community. There are unique events every year in addition to our long running annual events.

Performances
Provo City is lucky enough to have its own theater for performing arts. They host a variety of events from local performances to large scale performances of well known bands.

In late 2015, Italian artist Hitnes embarked on a road trip throughout America with the goal of retracing the endeavors of John James Audubon to document all of the birds in North America.

Audubon’s ambitious goal was to document all of the birds in the country, and these well-known drawings made up his book The Birds in America. Captivated by the enormous scope of Audubon’s goal, Hitnes traveled across the country, aiming to cover in three months what Audubon did in as many decades.

To view the exhibit outside of our scheduled hours, contact Erika Hill at 801-852-7685.

AuthorLink with Raina Telgemeier, Shannon Hale, and LeUyen Pham

  • Date: 10/10/2019 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Thursday, October 10
7:00 pm | Ballroom

Fans of middle-grade graphic novel memoirs won't want to miss this presentation and meet-and-greet with Raina Telgemeier, Shannon Hale, and LeUyen Pham.

Get tickets online beginning September 19 at 9:00 am.

Due to estimated crowd sizes, authors will not be signing books at this event. Those interested in purchasing pre-signed books may do so through the King’s English Bookshop (books will not be personalized).

In Best Friends, the highly anticipated follow-up to the runaway hit graphic memoir Real Friends, Shannon knows sixth grade is going to be a perfect year. She's got a spot in the in-crowd called The Group, and her best friend is their leader Jen, the most popular girl in school. But the rules are always changing, and Shannon has to scramble to keep up. She never knows which TV shows are cool, what songs to listen to, and, most importantly, which boys you're allowed to talk to. Who makes these rules anyway? And does Shannon have to follow them to stay friends with The Group?

In Guts, Raina wakes up one night with a terrible upset stomach. Her mom has one, too, so it's probably just a bug. Raina eventually returns to school, where she's dealing with the usual highs and lows: friends, not-friends, and classmates who think the school year is just one long gross-out session. It soon becomes clear that Raina's tummy trouble isn't going away... and it coincides with her worries about food, school, and changing friendships. What's going on? Raina Telgemeier once again brings us a thoughtful, charming, and funny true story about growing up and gathering the courage to face -- and conquer -- her fears.

There are four ticket options available for this event, including a free ticket option and pre-signed book options.

Day of event guidelines:

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission seating. Places in the meet & greet line will be assigned in the order you arrive.

Please bring a printed ticket or have your phone ready to scan the ticketed barcode from Eventbrite. This will speed up the entry process.

Paid tickets are non-refundable; if you are unable to attend your book will be available at the bookstore the next day.
