There are a wide variety of events held in Provo throughout the year. Provo is a very active community that holds tons of events. There are three different kinds of events in Provo City:
These are events that are not sponsored by Provo City. Instead these are large scale activities put on by a third party. These event require an application process with the city for a Special Events License.
Events sponsored by Provo City. These are events that are made to strengthen our community. There are unique events every year in addition to our long running annual events.
Provo City is lucky enough to have its own theater for performing arts. They host a variety of events from local performances to large scale performances of well known bands.

Best-selling author Kwame Alexander and debut novelist Sofiya Pasternack team up for an evening you won’t forget.
As a special bonus at this event, before the event begins we will be giving away free books to Provo City Library cardholders between the ages of 8 and 14. One free copy of either THE CROSSOVER (Graphic Novel) or ANYA AND THE DRAGON will be available to the first 250 Provo City Library cardholders (while supplies last). Attendees must have an active Provo City Library card. Card must be present at the time of pickup; limit one book per child. No reserving books or picking up books for other cardholders.
Doors will open to ticket holders at 5:15 pm. Free books will be available while supplies last; book giveaway will close at 6:00 pm and remain closed until the authors are finished speaking. Books will be available for purchase onsite courtesy of The King's English Bookshop.
Free tickets for this event will be available online to Provo City Library cardholders beginning September 2 at 9:00 am; any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public on September 16 at 9:00 am.
