Recreation Center Members get three times the fun with the new Triple Play access. All current Recreation Center Memberships get access to these exciting new amenities at NO additional cost! We’ve loved celebrating these last 5 years of a happier, healthier Provo with you and we think you’ll enjoy these new amenities as much as we do! Please note that these new amenities are exclusive to members of the Recreation Center.
THE FIELDHOUSE FITNESS SCHEDULE
In addition to the Recreation Center and all fitness classes, the Triple Play access gets you access to the following new features at each facility:
- 50% off the cost of a Par 3 Course green fee
- 50% off a bucket of balls at the Driving Range
- FREE access to 3 practice greens/chipping greens
- FREE group golf lessons (available for registration through the Provo Recreation Center App)
Have you ever wanted to try golf without committing to a 4 hour, 18-hole Championship Course? Perhaps you wanted to try it out, but didn’t want to invest in all the clubs and equipment? Or maybe you’ve just needed a simple group lesson to help learn the basics and get you pointed in the right direction? Now, with the Triple Play Access as part of the Provo Recreation Center Membership, you’ll be able to see all the fun and excitement around golf without the barriers! Learn from the resident Golf Pros in weekly group classes (hosted at the East Bay Golf Course, or at the Peaks Turf and Recreation Center in winter months) where they’ll cover each aspect of the game and teach basic rules and etiquette of the course. Bring the whole family or a group of friends to progress through different skills and challenges at the three practice greens. Or, once you’re ready, enjoy 50% off the Driving Range and Par 3 Course and get the full golf experience. Patrons can use clubs free of charge for the classes and range and can rent a set of clubs for the Par 3 Course at a reduced rate. Simply stop by the East Bay Pro Shop front desk, scan your member card, and they’ll get you started right away!
Additional improvements are slated for the driving range, concessions plaza, and other exciting amenities of the Golf Course during the 2018 off-season. Final improvements will be announced this year and are anticipated to be in place ahead of the Spring 2019 season.
- 20+ weekly olympic lifting, Field House, TRX, and other functional fitness classes
- 90 hours of weekly open gym time
- Access to Personal Training, Team Training, and more
Why fight the crowds at a pool when you can cool off with an afternoon of open public skating? Looking for a fun family activity or inexpensive, exciting date night? With the Triple Play Access as part of the Provo Recreation Center Membership, you’ll get free ice skating during any qualifying Public Skate hours (see Peaks front desk for details and restrictions on special open skate times like College Night, Tall and Small, and more that are designed for specific age groups and users). Skate rental not included; members must bring their own skates or rent them from the Peaks Ice Arena.
Are you ready to take your functional fitness to the next level? The Recreation Center fitness team has radically redesigned the ‘small turf’ field at the Peaks Ice Arena to bring you a next-level functional fitness environment. Included in the cost of your Recreation Center Membership, you’ll have access to 7,000 square feet of Olympic lifting equipment and functional space. The area features an astounding 8 racks, deadlift platforms, TRX and ring equipment, functional equipment machines, battle ropes, dumbbells, kettleballs, a 20ftx100ft turf sprint track with sleds and tires, and more. At least 20 classes will be held each week in the space, with focuses ranging from TRX, our popular Fieldhouse Fitness format, and beginning lifting/form/technique classes. When not in use for the classes, Recreation Center Members will be able to reserve a spot for open gym where they can complete their own workouts.
Looking for a late night workout? The Peaks stays open later than the Recreation Center (seasonally) and will allow patrons to work out between 10PM-12AM; see the Mindbody App or Peaks Ice Arena website for specifics.
Finally, we’re excited to add additional programming for our guests seeking a more custom workout experience. Personal training, small group training, and team training will be available (for additional fees) at the Fieldhouse location.
- Additional Member Experience amenities
The focus of the new Triple Play Access for members is definitely on the exciting new amenities available at the Peaks Ice Arena and East Bay Golf Course. However, we’re excited to announce a few changes here at the Recreation Center facility as well, available to both members and day pass guests.
3 new sets of indoor pickleball court lines were added to the Thunderbird court in August 2018. While no additional evening hours are planned, up to six courts will be available in the morning and early afternoon hours.
We recently completed an overhaul of the WiFi at the facility. Now six times as many devices can be connected simultaneously while enjoying 4x speed. The managed network also allows the facility to prohibit a few users from hogging all the bandwidth and ruining it for the rest of the guests.
What do I need to do to get special pricing at the Peaks Ice Arena and East Bay Golf Course?
Bring your membership card for each member of your party to the front desk. Recreation Center policies regarding check-in (3 times without card before a patron has to purchase a new card) will be in effect. After scanning, the staff at each location will be able to guide you through the rest of the process.
Do I need to bring my own equipment to these facilities to enjoy the amenities?
Golf Clubs will be provided free of charge for use at the Driving Range, Practice Greens, and during classes with the Triple Play Access. Sets of clubs can be rented at a discounted rate for use on the Par 3 Course. Supplies are limited. Ice skates may be rented for an additional fee at the Peaks Ice Arena.
Can I use my membership discount for other people in my group?
No. Discounts are intended for the Recreation Center Member only. Patrons found to be sharing benefits with others (ie purchasing a bucket of balls for someone else’s use) will result in forfeiture of membership.
Does my Provo Senior Pass get me discounted access?
The $10 annual Provo Senior Pass does not include Triple Play Access. Senior Recreation Center memberships do include Triple Play Access.
Does this get me access to the 18 hole Championships Course at East Bay?
Access to the 18 hole Championship Course, cart rental, pro shop, concessions items, and other East Bay Golf Course fees are not altered by the Triple Play Access and can be purchased directly from the East Bay Golf Course staff.
Where can I find the hours for Public Skate for the Peaks Ice Arena?
The Peaks Ice Arena posts daily Public Skate hours on their website and Facebook page. Please note that various times offer specific types of public skate hours. While your Recreation Center Membership gets you access to all Public Skate times (figure skate and hockey times are excluded from ‘public skate’ times), certain age restrictions may be in effect. Please consult a Peaks Ice Arena staff for details.
What kind of classes can I take as part of the Fieldhouse Fitness functional space?
The space will offer a variety of functional fitness formats, including TRX, SAQ (speed agility quickness), weight lifting, mobility work, HIIT (high intensity interval training), and more. These classes are different than traditional group exercise classes that have an instructor at the front of the room, exercising with the members. Instead, a personal trainer will lead the class, typically in stations of small groups, where the guests will complete a circuit, a particular lift, or exercise at their own speed. When moving through Olympic lifts, for example, participants will focus on form, move slowly, complete a full rest, etc. On the turf sprint lanes, they’d then perform more of a HIIT or SAQ sequence. These classes provide a unique coaching experience that will help you get to the next level. See Mindbody app for specific classes.
Can I book a tee time for the Par 3 Course?
Currently, there are no pre-registrations for the Par 3 and Foot Golf Course. However, should the schedule become busier, tee times will be available for booking on East Bay’s Fore Up website. Visit eastbaygolf.com for details.
Is there an age limit for participation?
Fieldhouse Functional fitness space is for 14 and older.
Golf courses classes are designed for participants 14 and older, or 8-13 if taken with a parent.
Where do I sign up for golf group lessons?
The Free golf group lessons will be available in Mindbody on the Provo Recreation Center App. If you’d like individual or custom lessons, speak with a pro shop staff member for price, schedule, and other information.
If I buy a Recreation Center Day Pass, do I get access to Triple Play amenities and discounts?
Those who have purchased a day pass have access to the Recreation Center and the Fieldhouse. Golf Course and Ice Rink access is for Recreation Center Members only.
Can I purchase a Recreation Center Membership at the East Bay Golf Course and Peaks Ice Arena?
All membership sales and questions should continue to be handled by Recreation Center staff.
