If you are looking for a way to become more involved in Provo, consider running for City Council.  In 2019, there will be four seats up for election: Council District 1, Council District 3, Council District 4, and City Wide Council II.

File your Declaration of Candidacy from June 3 to June 7 in the Provo City Recorder's Office between the hours of 8 a.m and 5 p.m. Please be prepared to pay a filing fee of $75. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 801-852-6524.

Related Image 2019 Municipal Election InformationThe 2019 Municipal Election will be a vote-by-mail election.

Primary Election: Tuesday, August 13, 2019 (ballots mailed to active registered voters on July 19). 
General Election: Tuesday, November 5, 2019 (ballots mailed to active registered voters on October 11).

Ballots may be returned by mail (postmarked the day before election day) or deposited in one of the County's many ballot drop boxes.

2019 Municipal Election: Important Dates and Deadlines

PRIMARY ELECTION

  • Now: If you're not registered to vote, now is the time! Register online at: https://vote.utah.gov/  
  • June 3, 2019 - June 7, 2019: Declaration of candidacy period. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Provo City Recorder's Office (351 W Center Street). 
  • June 28, 2019: Ballots are transmitted to overseas and military (UOCAVA) voters.
  • July 23, 2019: Vote-by-Mail ballots are sent to voters.
  • August 6, 2019: Last day to request a mail ballot and register to vote online or at the county clerk's office.
  • August 13, 2019: Municipal Primary Election.  Utah County voters may register to vote with a provisional ballot at any Utah County Service Center on Election Day. 

GENERAL ELECTION

  • Now: If you're not registered to vote, now is the time! Register online at: https://vote.utah.gov/  
  • September 6, 2019: Last day to declare write-in candidacy.
  • September 20, 2019: Ballots are transmitted to overseas and military (UOCAVA) voters.
  • October 15, 2019: Mail ballots are sent to voters.
  • October 29, 2019: Last day to request a mail ballot and register to vote online or at the county clerk's office.
  • November 5, 2019:  Municipal General Election. Utah County voters may register to vote with a provisional ballot at any Utah County Service Center on Election Day.
