Mayor Kaufusi presented the proposed Provo City budget to City Council at the May 1, 2018, Council meeting. The Council then began a process of reviewing budget items. The proposed budget was tentatively adopted at the May 15, 2018, Council meeting. Public hearings were held at the June 5 and June 19 Council meetings. The final budget was approved at the June 19 Council meeting.

For the fiscal year 2018-19 budget, departments were asked to make some budget presentations in the months leading up to delivery of the actual proposed budget.
Council staff made a preliminary review of the budget and created a summary (Citizens Budget) to help Council members and the public quickly gain an understanding of what is proposed in the budget. The public was invited to review the information and share their comments in Open City Hall.
