Record Appeals Board

What is the Records Appeals Board?

The Provo City Records Appeals Board is comprised of three members: a city employee, a member of the public, and a member of the public with professional records experience. These members are appointed by the Mayor and consented to by the Council. In the event a request for records made under the Government Records Access Management Act (GRAMA) is denied by the City’s Records Officer, requesters may file a notice of appeal with the Mayor. If the Mayor affirms an access denial, requesters then have the right to file a second appeal with the Provo City Records Appeals Board.
